Over 350 people joined a major March and Rally in Liverpool recently as part of a local and national campaign against racism, fascism and the policies of the BNP.
The event was organised by the Merseyside Coalition against Racism and Fascism (MCARF), Searchlight and Merseyside TUC and was supported by the Liverpool Black Leadership Forum (LBLF).
The March and Rally assembled from the Kuumba Imani Millennium Centre, Princes Road, Liverpool, L8 from 10:30am.

- Councillor Anna Rothery - LBLF
- Danielle Gruffery - President Liverpool Guild of Students
- Adam Kelwick - Imam Liverpool Mosque
- Martin Gleeson - Secretary Oldham TUC
After the speeches the March and Rally proceeded peacefully into Liverpool town centre on to the St George's plateau, guided by trade union stewards, showcasing anti-racism and fascism banners and placards.
Over the next 4 months MCARF are hoping to hold 3 further similar events; two in Liverpool and one on the Wirral for May Day.
